Modmail
Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
This policy explains how Modmail (the "Service") handles information. The Service is operated by Isla Noctis.
Information We Handle
- Thread metadata including Discord user, server, channel, and message IDs; usernames, avatars, timestamps, and moderator status.
- Messages sent to the bot and in support threads, including message content and attachment URLs.
- When enabled in instance settings, bot identity, main server details, uptime, latency, version, and self-hosted status may be sent as optional telemetry.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to provide the Service's features described above, maintain service operation, enforce permissions, and address abuse or technical problems.
Storage and Retention
Thread content and metadata are stored in the database configured by the instance operator. The operator controls retention; individual logs can be deleted using the bot's log-deletion command. Optional telemetry can be disabled through the instance's data-collection setting. Plugins may handle additional data.
Sharing
Thread messages are relayed to the configured Discord staff thread and may be displayed by the associated logviewer. Optional instance telemetry is sent to Modmail's service when enabled.
We do not sell personal information. The policy site itself does not require an account or set a sign-in cookie. The hosting provider or reverse proxy may process standard request information, such as an IP address.
Your Choices and Requests
You can stop using the Service at any time. To ask about, correct, or request deletion of information associated with your account, contact the operator at [email protected]. Some records may need to be retained to operate the Service, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
Age and Policy Updates
The Service is not intended for anyone who is not permitted to use Discord under the age requirements applicable to them. We may update this policy by publishing a revised version here.
